1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you") and Talebot.io ("we," "us," or "our"), concerning your access to and use of the Talebot platform. By accessing the site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these terms.
2. Core Platform Rules
By using Talebot, you agree to adhere to our standard of conduct and operational rules. These ensure a safe and creative environment for all storytellers:
User Eligibility & Conduct
- You must be at least 18 years of age or have legal guardian consent.
- Account credentials must be kept confidential and secure.
- Automated scraping or harvesting of platform data is strictly prohibited.
- Impersonation of users or administrators will result in an immediate ban.
- Usage of the platform for illegal activities is forbidden.
- You agree to the automated security decisions made by the AntiBot engine.
- Bypassing regional restrictions or security measures is prohibited.
- Generation of content that violates local laws or promotes hate is forbidden.
- Multiple accounts to exploit free promotions is a violation of these terms.
- You must provide accurate information during account registration.
- Harassment of other users via comments or messages is strictly prohibited.
- Sharing of account access with unauthorized third parties is not allowed.
- Users are responsible for all activity that occurs under their account.
- We reserve the right to terminate accounts for any breach of conduct.
- You agree not to use the platform to distribute unsolicited advertising (spam).
- Exploiting platform bugs for gain must be reported, not abused.
Monetization & Credits
- Neural Credits are digital commodities used to fuel AI generation.
- All credit purchases via Stripe are final and non-refundable.
- "First Book Free" is a one-time promotion per unique user identity.
- Credit pricing may be adjusted based on AI processing costs.
- Abusing free cover allotments via multiple accounts is prohibited.
- Publishing costs (currently 2 CR) are subject to periodic review.
- Store revenue distribution is managed according to platform commission rates.
- Chargebacks without prior support contact will lead to permanent suspension.
- Unused credits do not expire as long as the account remains active.
- Credits have no real-world monetary value outside the Talebot ecosystem.
- Promotional credits may have specific expiration dates if stated.
- We are not liable for loss of credits due to account security failures.
- Transferring credits between different users is not permitted.
- Stripe's terms of service apply to all financial transactions.
- Any attempt to manipulate credit balances will result in an instant ban.
- Refunds are only issued in exceptional cases at our sole discretion.
Intellectual Property
- You own the unique story prompts (Narrative Soul) you create.
- Generated content is licensed to you for personal and commercial use.
- Talebot owns the underlying code, UI, and neural integration logic.
- Audio and cover art are provided for use within the platform ecosystem.
- Publicly shared stories grant a limited reading license to other users.
- You may not use Talebot's trademarks without explicit written consent.
- AI models' training data is proprietary to the respective model providers.
- We reserve the right to use anonymized prompts to improve our services.
- Commercial use is permitted as long as you maintain an active account.
- Copyright claims on AI-generated content depend on current local laws.
- You must not claim "sole human authorship" for AI-assisted works.
- Content generated by the system remains in our database for archive.
- Exported audio files are for your personal use and distribution.
- Platform assets (icons, styles) remain our exclusive property.
System Integrity
- Attempts to access system files (like /.env) will trigger an instant ban.
- AI models are provided "as-is" and may contain factual inaccuracies.
- We reserve the right to limit access to prevent infrastructure abuse.
- Maintenance windows may temporarily affect generation availability.
- Beta features are experimental and may be modified without notice.
- Reverse engineering of the Talebot application is strictly forbidden.
- Denial of Service (DoS) attacks will be prosecuted to the full extent of law.
- Usage of the API for external third-party tools is not allowed.
- We monitor request patterns to detect and block malicious traffic.
- System performance may vary based on global AI model demand.
- Data loss due to user error is not the responsibility of Talebot.
- You agree to receive critical system updates via email or notifications.
- The AntiBot engine uses behavioral analysis to ensure fair usage.
- Circumventing credit-based limits is a serious security violation.
3. AI Content & Liability Disclaimer
Talebot utilizes high-end neural networks to manifest narrative content. You explicitly acknowledge that:
- AI generation is an iterative process and results may vary.
- We are not responsible for subjective "quality" of generated stories.
- Any advice generated in "Realistic" or "Facts" mode is NOT professional advice.
- Talebot is not liable for emotional distress caused by AI-generated fiction.
- The "Critic Review" is an AI-generated blurb and not a real person's opinion.
- You are the final editor of any content you choose to publish or share.
- AI models may hallucinate and provide non-existent references.
- We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is unique across all users.
- The system may refuse to generate content that triggers safety filters.
- You agree to indemnify us for any legal claims arising from your published stories.
4. Credit System and Payments
The platform uses a "Credit" system for generation and publishing. Credits must be purchased via Stripe. All purchases are final and non-refundable, except at our sole discretion or as required by law. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts.
5. Prohibited Activities
You may not access or use the Site for any purpose other than that for which we make the Site available. Prohibited activity includes:
- Systematically retrieving data to create a collection or database without permission.
- Trick, defraud, or mislead us and other users.
- Circumvent or interfere with security-related features.
- Upload or transmit viruses or other malicious code.
- Attempting to reverse engineer any of the platform's proprietary code.
- Using the platform to generate deceptive or harmful content.
- Interfering with the service of any user, host, or network.
- Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the system.
- Forging any TCP/IP packet header or any part of the header information.
- Using manual or automated software to "crawl" or "spider" any part of the site.
- Harvesting or collecting email addresses or other contact information.
- Deciphering, decompiling, disassembling, or reverse engineering any software.
- Framing or linking to the Site without authorization.
- Using the site in a manner inconsistent with any applicable laws.
- Aggressive automated 404 probing or sensitive file hunting.
- Bypassing the AntiBot security engine via proxies or VPNs for abuse.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event will we or our directors, employees, or agents be liable to you or any third party for any direct, indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including lost profit, lost revenue, loss of data, or other damages arising from your use of the site. This includes but is not limited to:
- Errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies of AI-generated content.
- Personal injury or property damage resulting from your access to the site.
- Unauthorized access to our secure servers and personal information.
- Interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the site.
- Bugs, viruses, or trojan horses transmitted by third parties.
- Errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred.
- Loss of credits due to system failure or account compromise.
- Emotional distress or dissatisfaction with story outcomes.
- Actions taken by the AntiBot engine to protect the platform.
- Third-party service outages (OpenAI, Stripe, etc.).
